Alec was born to a couple, both at the age of seventeen, on September 30, 1997, who at the time, had absolutely no knowledge on how to care for a child. They kept him for about four months, and in those four months, the young couple constantly argued about Alec. His biological mother, Sally, wanted to keep him and raise him, however, his father, Joshua, wanted to put him up for adoption. Joshua had agreed with Sally, but the next morning, he brought Alec to an adoption center and left Sally without saying a word.
Sally was devastated upon finding out and drove to every adoption center, but was even more devastated when one center claimed someone already came to adopt him. This led to her depression and she promised to herself that she would find him no matter what. Meanwhile, Alec was adopted by Jane and Anthony Pearson, a couple without children. They were excited to raise the child despite having none, prior to Alec.
He had a good life growing up, except for the constant bullying by his classmate for being so naive. He also struggled academically and he was always failing in every subject, concerning his teachers and parents. He tried to consult one of his teachers, but she convinced him that he just didn’t pay much attention, and that he should be more focused.
Although he took this piece of of advice, he seemed to become more worse as he was always distracted and would talk to his classmates during class. He would forget what he learned and his grades would continue to drop. His teachers were now completely concerned and suggested that his parents should take him to a doctor to see if his behavior lead to something serious.
His parents did as they were told, and it was, in fact, something serious. Alec was diagnosed with the combined type of Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder at the age of ten. At first, Alec didn’t believe them and told them it was because he was a kid, but it seemed to carry on even in his early teen years. His parents had helped him manage this, which was really helpful for him.
