| Cynthia Murphy is inactive and can no longer roleplay.
Portrayer's note: I really liked the apocalyptic verse and I wish I could continue with it but I'm just too busy :( If I have more free time on my hands one day, I might bring it back.
|Birthday:||8th of April, 1996|
|Address:||Barfield High School|
Cynthia was born in 1996 in Barfield to Alyssa Murphy and Scott Murphy. Both her parents grew up in the area and took her out very regularly as she was growing up. As a result of this in addition to her sharp memory, she has always known the area extremely well and hence been able to get herself around well, being very independent from a very young age. Despite this, her parents cared for her very well and they had a very stable relationship. Same went for her older and younger brothers, Tony and Jerry.
Cynthia never went to school with any other kids; she was homeschooled by her parents and various tutors they called in. Unlike a lot of other homeschooled children she has met along the way, she was always probably at an above average standard in her learning than most kids her age. Although due to her lack of exposure to other kids her age, Cynthia has difficulties talking to people the same age or younger than her, even though she can talk to adults without any issues at all.
It was during a tutoring session of algebra when Cynthia noticed the armed policemen on the street. As soon as the lesson ended, she took to the internet to see what she could find, but she couldn't find anything. She started posting all over forums to ask people about what was going on, but no one replied. It was only when she made a whole website dedicated to the issue that she got some attention. People like her from around the area went to her website and posted their theories about the situation.
As Cynthia was still allowed to leave her house without the policemen saying anything, she discreetly looked around to find clues that might've given even the slightest reason to something. Her online aqcuaintances did the same and they began to work towards a conclusion. It was about this time when the media made an announcement that they would reveal the reasons for what was happening. One of the contributors to Cynthia's website suggested they all meet at a certain street, in foresight of what they knew would happen - complete disconnection from all media.
It was at this time that Cynthia discovered that these events were not only happening in the immediate area of Barfield, but were starting to engulf the whole world - countries in poverty first (and also America for some reason). She wasn' t surprised to find out the wide demographic of her newfound friends, and she was grateful for this, as she found it easier to deal with those older than her.
By the time all schools in the U.S.A. had shut down in September 2014, Cynthia and her group had filled in nearly all the blanks in the reasoning behind the almost sudden onset deterioration of the world. They came to the conclusion that there was some kind of third party, controlling every single government and leader in the world, and that this party had been running for quite a long time but very recently become very corrupt. Their corruption and downfall meant the deterioration of government and leading services in all countries and also kinds of internal cold wars between people who knew about them. Violence wasn't implemented for a while, just many empty threads. The day that policemen had begun to appear on the streets was the day that the first person from the third party met his painful death - poisoned and then hanged by a fellow colleague.
Cynthia and her group are perfectly aware of other networks such as theirs all over the world, and are constantly trying to find ways to access them, so that they can work together. They feel a kind of responsibilty towards trying to ameliorate the situation or at least helping others in trouble. She also often tries to get others her ageto join them, but she has to work extremely discreetly - knowing the times of every police officer and when they patrol each street.
Cynthia is techincally a fugitive. She hasn't seen her family since she went to meet her blog contributors. She left them a note explaining everything and the most she can do is hope they understood. She knows that there is a very slim chance that they would be alive. This deeply saddens her and she spends a lot of time remorsing over this, but only when she has time. At other times, it is what keeps her going, she works in their memory.
At the moment, Cynthia's job is to find other eligible people to work for her and her team with networking and being able to find other groups like theirs. She has watched so many peopel die whilst she was standing in the shadows, unable to do anything and now she just wants to try her hardest to keep others in safety. She says everything she does is in the name of networking, but whenever she sees someone younger than her or her age on the street, she feels a huge resposiblity towards them.
Since the whole becoming a fugitive and lurking in the shadows thing, Cynthia has adopted a sort of mysterious attitude, trying to act elusive mostly because that is what she is nowadays. She pleases and entertains herself by often having a very different personality for each day, and being able to change herself is probably the reason she is able to get by.
Cynthia and her squad are currently situated in what used to be Barfield High School. Surprisingly, there are rarely policemen hanging around it, and it is a very convenient place to be.
