Giselle has a very feminine clothing style. She prefers wearing light and pastel colors. She loves wearing skirts and dresses, but every once in a while, she can be spotted wearing pants as well. Giselle's clothes can be described as cute and preppy. When casually going out, she usually wears flats, as she finds them more comfortable, but she wears heels for when she has to dress formally.
Giselle doesn't go out too often without makeup. She likes to put on light makeup colors. She isn't too heavy on the makeup; she only applies blush, lipstick, and mascara.
Giselle puts effort into her appearance. She does not like to leave the house without looking presentable.
When first meeting Giselle, one might describe her as cold. Giselle is actually a warm and kind person, but when meeting new people, they often think that she does not want to talk to them. This is usually not the case. Giselle is actually a shy extrovert. She loves making friends, but her timidness often stands in the way. For the first half of her life, she did not really have plain conversations with other people her age. This is why she is so awkward talking to other people.
Although Giselle is very intelligent, she can also be quite naive. She does not understand sarcasm or jokes very well. She is also lacking in common sense. Even the simplest and most obvious things can confuse her, much to the enjoyment of her friends. Unfortunately, some people like to take advantage of her and her naivety without her knowledge.
These things don't bother Giselle too deeply. She still tries to make friends and she tries hard to be the best friend she can be. She is very stubborn, persistent, and hardworking. She hates disappointing people or making them upset with her. She works really hard to please everyone around her. Whenever she thinks someone is upset with her, she is troubled and usually tries to make amends. If someone has done wrong to her, all they have to do is apologize and she will quickly force herself to forgive them and think good thoughts. Giselle does not like drama and prefers to stay away from confrontation.
On December 13, 1991, Cho Gi was born in Daegu, South Korea. Her older brother, Cho Myeong, was six at this time. During her first few years of life, she was able to play freely as the other kids. Once she started school, her parents started to be very strict. This was not because they were mean, or because she was a troublemaker. They just wanted to enforce strong discipline and make sure she was making the most of her education. She was sent to a small all girls' school around the age of seven, so she does have many memories of the school she used to attend before that one.
At that school, the teachers noticed that Giselle excelled and surpassed the other girls in her grade. They commended her and this encouraged Giselle to indulge herself in her studies. The more the teachers complimented her, the higher she thought their expectations were. She was very hard on herself and demanded that she do her best. Giselle was so focused on her schoolwork that she didn't even realize that she had no social life. She barely ever talked to the other girls at her school, unless it was related to schoolwork.
Around the age of sixteen, Giselle and her family heard about teens being able to be part of an exchange program to the US. Her school wasn't largely involved with it due to the fact that it wasn't a really prestigious school, but her teachers told her that she should apply. Her family encouraged her to apply, and although she was worried about being homesick, she thought it would be a good learning experience to study in a different country. Plus, it would put her English skills to good use. Once Giselle had found out that she had been chosen to go, she was ecstatic. Her family was very proud, and her father bragged to everyone else about how his daughter was selected.
Once she reached Barfield, a city in America, her name was anglicized to Giselle Cho. She thought it was strange at first, but she thought that the name Giselle sounded pretty, so she agreed to the name change. She got to stay in a dorm in the Miduna Beach area with two other girls, Iris Jung and Aleesha Park. It was certainly a different experience, because she had more social interaction on the first week in America than in the last few years at her old school. She became particularly good friends with Iris because talking to her seemed so easy.
Giselle noticed that American school seemed much more relaxed. She continued to be a good student, but she finally found time to talk to other people at school. Being quite shy, it would have been hard to make friends if Iris and Aleesha hadn't introduced her to some of the other girls that were part of the Korean exchange program.
Once Giselle graduated, she got into a good university and majored in accounting. She had already discussed with her family that it would be good for her to stay in America. After graduating from the top of her class, she started working as one of the accountants for Club Zoo. Soon, she became the budget director.
Now, Giselle lives with her dog, Sook in a nice house in Montero. She is currently not dating anyone, and she is doing very well in her career. She phones home often, and she still keeps in touch with some of her friends from high school.
Cho Mi Na is Giselle's mother. Giselle's mom was very strict when she was a child, but she didn't mean it to be a form of oppression. She just wanted the best for her daughter and didn't want her to be distracted by frivolous things. Giselle doesn't resent her for it, and she is still on good terms with her mom.
Cho Gun Ho is Giselle's father. He is a little more laid-back than her mom, but he also had high expectations for Giselle. When Giselle was accepted into the program to go to America, he was very proud of her. He still brags about Giselle back at home.
Cho Myeong is Giselle's older brother. He is six years older than Giselle, and currently lives in South Korea with his wife and five year old son, Yeong. He and Giselle talk often through telephone and Skype. They get along pretty well for brother and sister. Giselle just wishes she could see him more often.
Giselle keeps in touch with some of her friends that she met in high school and college, and she has made some friends at work and other places. Her best friend, however, is Iris Jung.
