Jasper is a fairly tall fellow, standing at 5'11". He's not too fussy with clothes, seeing as he doesn't have money to be. He usually wears a nice little button-up shirt and jeans to look decent. He usually gets his hair cut once a month because it isn't unruly when it comes to growth. His appearance is the least of his worries.
Jasper is quirky, wild and completely irresponsible. He has a rather unconventional way of thinking and doing things. He's incredibly impulsive and has trouble thinking with logic rather than emotion sometimes. He's a tad promiscuous; he has commitment issues and refuses to settle with just one person. However, he's the perfect person to sit down and vent to. He's very understanding, patient (most of the time), and sensitive to other peoples' emotion. He may act like an idiot, but he's actually really intelligent, seeing as he minoring in mathematics in school and takes a lot of English and History classes while in college.
Jasper was born in Yingkou, Liaoning in China to a single mother who didn't want another child. She dropped off the baby to a orphanage in a nearby town, with only a letter asking to take care of him and his birth certificate with no first name on it. For the first four years of his life, he was just called Wèizhī, which means "unknown".
When he was 5 years old, an American couple who was looking to adopt a Chinese child came to his orphanage and they adopted him. They named him Jasper and kept his original surname, Gao, that was on his incomplete birth certificate. He moved out to America, and spent a majority of his childhood traveling the country because his parents could never stay still for long.
When he was 16, his family moved to Barfield and they stayed there so that Jasper could finish the tail end of his schooling. He went to Harrington and graduated from there in 2008. His parents paid from him to go to BIST, and he had no problem getting into the school either. In his sophomore year, he met a girl named Julie in his child development class. She liked his weirdness and he just thought she was pretty. They went out a few times before officially deciding to date. They dated until the beginning of his senior year, when she died in a car accident with a couple of her friends. He never fully recovered from this devastation.
Jasper continued his schooling and got his bachelor's degree in psychology in 2012. He is pushing for his doctorate, so he is still in school and working odd jobs to cover the rent with his roommate Trey. He never moved on from Julie, and he has developed some commitment issues and can't find it in his heart to settle down with someone else. To block out the pain, he sleeps with a variety of different women and men and not perusing anything with them. He continues to live his life and makes every effort to live everyday like it's his last, a lesson he picked up from Julie.
His mother is a very caring and loving woman towards him. Seeing as she was infertile and couldn't have her own children for a long time, she fell in love with him when she adopted him. While she's really loving, she's a strict woman and she's always on him about getting his education.
His father and him get along well. They bond and have a nice relationship where they used to go out and do father-son sorta things. Nowadays, they talk and get on but they aren't as close as Jasper is with his mom.
Trey Bowen is his closest friend. While in high school, they didn't really talk much at all. But they ended up becoming roommates so that neither would have to spend so much on rent, and this caused their relationship to grow. They have a playful, teasing banter but they do have their fair share of serious talks.
He's bisexual, with a preference for women. His attraction to men is mostly physical/sexual.
When depressed, he tends to drink to ease the pain.
He hates cheese.
In his first four years of college, he minored in mathematics. This caused him to be extremely good with numbers.
He used to smoke weed for a brief time, but he stopped when he realized his grades were dropping because he was going to school high.
He wasn't really originally planned to be made (at least not by me anyways). Like, I had an entirely different character planned out and Mini was gonna use Trey for it, but then I abandoned that character before making her. But Mini decided to make Trey and I decided to make the roommate that probably would've been a background character otherwise.
