Laurel is not the definition of a classic kind of beauty. She doesn't have long legs, nor she has large breasts and a great behind. She is short, shorter than most people and that makes her tiny. Laurel never had any kind of problems due to her appearance and she likes how she looks. Laurel is not a really fashionista so to speak, she buys whatever she likes whenever she is shopping. Her clothing option don't really have a particular style. Her closet is mostly filled with casual dresses, some pants, jeans and blouses. Laurel is often seen wearing bright colors and it's rare for her to wear dark. When she goes out she will put on some high heels but other times she doesn't like making herself taller. She usually has her hair down and curled but she sometimes straightens it and gets a hair cut with bangs.
Laurel is quite an individual. She's ambitions and strong headed. She has a lot of opinions on different subjects and she isn't afraid of speaking about them. Laurel usually comes off as being obnoxious, which she can be. Once her mind is set to something she won't stop until she accomplishes it. Regarding School, Laurel is very centered on being right and doing her absolute best, she is better working off alone as she doesn't do well with other since she is self paced and she is never open to opinions that contradict her own. Laurel is not very social, considering she usually scares of most people off, she finds it very hard to make friends and when she does, she is extremely awkward. Beneath it all, Laurel is a sweet girl, she likes to read, walk her dog and play instruments in her free time. However, this side of her is rarely seen by other since she has trouble opening up to people, she's a lone wolf.
Laurel was born in a small town, to a big family with Italian roots. Laurel was always in the background of everything, she silently observed her life from a corner while her whole family progressed. She was really shy due to this, she was used to being alone most of the time and would get surprised if anyone would speak to her. In school, she was an outstanding student but she didn't talk much, most of her classmates didn't know what her voice sounded like. Laurel will simply do what she had to do and dream of a better future where she was bigger than anyone, and more importantly, noticed. Laurel always dreamed of going to a good college, she knew this was her only way out of this life she was tired of living.
Her parents took her out of a public school a little bit before she finished 5th grade. She was home schooled until she entered High School. Being at home most of the time, didn't really help her poor social skills, by the time she was ready to get back in the world, she was more socially awkward than she first was. Laurel soon became the black sheep of the whole school, not one student knew her name, she was an outcast, another student watching from the crowd. She didn't like this, she wanted to do something and be noticed and do something positive during her stay, she endured being in the background until her last year of School. Laurel moved to the other available high school in town in her senior year, there she became Class President and started many programs and clubs. She was at top of her class and finally doing something that would help her in the future, she was very proud of herself.
Even though with an admirable GPA and having the title of the class president, she still had trouble making friends. She talked to a few people and everyone knew who she was, but she didn't have any real friends. Laurel was unknown of many things teenagers her age were experiencing, romance for instance. Laurel loved to read and one of her favorite genre was romance but that was about all she knew about the subject. She liked boys, but she was never interested in anyone in the deep emotional level she wanted. Laurel later came to terms of her being Demisexual, she still hopes of finding that one person who she can share her life with.
Due to her being very close minded and inexperienced to the whole concept of humanity, she took a gap year traveling around Europe with her childhood best friend. Alyson was the only friend she had, who she had met in the home schooling system, they were very close that she agreed to pay for most expenses since Laurel's family wasn't really in the best financial situation. After visiting places in the world she never thought she would see, she saw the world in a different way and Laurel was now more open to new experiences.
Laurel had always been interested in being lawyer, growing up she saw many injustices happening around her and she knew she wanted to help somehow. Due to her amazing school performance she got a scholarship that pays for everything on Lebeaux University, a very prestigious school that earned the approval and pride of Laurel's family. Her major goal in life is to finish her studies and help people in need, she is focusing on this and giving her whole attention to it, unaware of the things she's missing out on.
Olivia Hampton - Olivia is Laurel's mom. When Laurel was a little kid she hardly payed any attention to her because she was busy with her other kids. Laurel was always independent and didn't need her help as much as her other children, she thought she would do alright on her own. Although Laurel came out perfectly fine and she does love her space and independence she always wished for a childhood where her mom would be closer to her. When Olivia found out all of Laurel's achievements she became proud and tried to reconnect with her but Laurel knew this was all because of her good grades and such, she was polite but didn't let her mother in. Laurel will call her mother once in a while to see how things are back home but their relationship isn't any different.
Liam Hampton - Liam is Laurel's father. Laurel can't remember any bonding moments she had with him that weren't him being her chores around the house. Of all his kids, he treated Laurel the baddest, he was never abusive verbally nor physically but he barely even knew she existed. No matter how hard she tried she was never able to get close to him. She cares for him deeply but she barely talks to him today.
Bianca Hampton - Bianca and Laurel got along pretty well when they were young, Laurel's uncle would often visit and bring Bianca with him. For some reason, Bianca got along with Laurel the best out of all her cousins. They would have performances since both of them loved to sing and dance. As they grew up, they stopped talking, due to their interests being different. Laurel can't remember the last time she talked to her cousin but it had to be by the time that she was still in high school.
