|Maxine 'Max' Cassells|
|Birthday:||March 23, 1991|
|Address:||5478 Waterbury Street, Blackwood Mountain|
|Housemates:||William and Elizabeth|
Max is a fairly good looking young women. She is thin and well built and is considered to be a little above average on height. She has natural blonde long straight hair which she usually lets down. She also has striking blue eyes. Max usually gets compliments from people, from casuals "You're pretty," to downright creepy stuff. In all honestly, Max couldn't care less on how she looks often joking that it wouldn't matter either way since she is aromantic and doesn't need that type of attention. She however is very comfortable in her skin.
Max is one of those people who don't own a lot of clothes, not because she can't afford it but because she doesn't think she needs them. She has a few pair of jeans and some shirts. Her way of getting new attire usually consists of spontaneous shopping if she sees something she likes while she's out. Max usually wears cartoon jumpers with some jeans or shirts with food drawn on them. She has some clothes she uses for work that are completely different however, often opting for a dress shirt and skirt/pants. Max really doesn't care much about appearances, she usually simply puts on whatever she feels comfortable on.
Max has a very complex personality, there really isn't one word to describe her perfectly. She is more of a whole ton of them mixed together. Max isn't very social, yet she loves to go out. She doesn't like having many friends but she always manages to get a ton of them. She's always hoping on people not liking her but they always end up loving her. Max really just wants to stay at home, reading or playing some games and wants to keep to herself but she always finds herself being dragged out by some of her friends. Although this isn't ideal to her, she won't complain too much since she cherishes her friends a lot.
Even though to strangers, Max appears to be a bit of an anti social weirdo, he true self is shown to her friends. She has a weird sense of humor that although not offensive it can be odd at times. She will make jokes that no one gets and laugh about it for hours. Max will also get obsessed with random things, such as a foreign song. Max is the type of person who seems 'loud' and all over the place over texts, or calls but once encountered in real life she is very quiet and reserved. Although she would debate against it, Max is probably the type of friend everyone will want. She is funny, supportive and never leaves a friend in need, making them her number one priority. Max always tries her hardest to see the good in everyone, which can sometimes be seen as a flaw.
The things she likes also defy her personality quite a lot, she absolutely loves nature and will fill her house with all kinds of plants, taking care of them and even going as far as naming them. Max is also a big animal lover, and would probably adopt every pet she'd encountered if she could. Max is not really into television, or movies and doesn't know much about celebrities and such, taking her attention towards Youtube, Gaming and Books instead. Her ideal Sunday is probably sitting in her computer watching Gamers videos, while eating chocolate and cuddling with her pets.
Many will agree that one of the most interesting things about Max is how she is constantly surprising you. You think you know her when she will bring up another aspect in her life that makes you like her even more. That's another thing about Max she is very like able, it is rare for people to dislike her. Some may think there's ought to be a bad side to her, and there probably is. Sure, she feels sadness and has bad days just like everyone but there really hasn't been an issue that has gotten in her way of being happy. Because, at the end that's Max's goal, being her true confident self.
Max was born on a rainy afternoon to the newly excited parents, Andrew and Rachel Cassells. The Cassells were an ordinary couple who owned a little house in Blackwood Mountain, they had been married for 5 years before they decided to have a child. Rachel's pregnancy was very well planned and Max was received in arms full of love. Max's family weren't rich per say but they weren't exactly poor, they could afford to pay their necessities but couldn't go out and buy stuff that wasn't a basic need. Her dad was a bus driver while her mother was a substitute teacher. Max was okay with that and thanks to it she grew up to be a selfless person. Max sees her childhood as a happy chapter in her life, she was home schooled for her first few school years. Memories of playing and running near the mountains always fill Max with happiness. Being in an only child she found company on animals and soon 'adopted' a few stray dogs and cats. They gave her company and happiness.
When she was about 10 years old, her mother told her that she had decided to send her to a public school since she thought it would be good to socialize with other people. Max was excited about this at first, she didn't really have friends since there weren't many people she could possibly talked to. Since Blackwood had no actual school in the neighbor hood, she rode the bus with her mom to Barfield. She remembers clearly what she wore on her first day, some torn out jeans and an old shirt she had bought at the thrift shop. Max loved this outfit and was very proud when she put them on for her first day of school. She however noticed some kids giving her weird looks, she thought it was because she was the new girl, Max simply smiled and waved at them but they didn't wave back. It wasn't until one boy made fun of her "dirty clothes" and called her poor that she finally understood the stares people were giving her.
Max didn't understand, she grew up thinking that material things were not at all important. Although, she didn't exactly have any friends, she would sometimes find herself playing with some kids she found in the playground and they had never said anything about her clothes. Days went by and although the bullying slowed down, it was always there. Someone always had something to say about her. Although Max found it absolutely horrible that she had to wake up early everyday and ride the bus to school only to be bothered by other kids, she found some good things to look forward to. She soon learned that when her mother called her smart, she wasn't actually lying. Max had very good grades and she would often get praised for it. She also found a girl named, Carol who didn't seem to mind her being a bit different and they soon became best friends. What Max loved the most about school however, was art class.
By the time she was 14, Max wasn't that poor girl from Blackwood anymore, She was now that weird, poor girl from Blackwood who spent most of her time with a sketchbook in hand. Many would also call her a loner since her only friend was Carol and she didn't really made an effort to find more. People didn't really bother her anymore, she was no longer the new girl and they would often leave her alone because she was highly antisocial and odd. As she got older, Max learned that she will probably never find any friends in her school who also shared her love for art and video games so she decided to be more active on the internet and find people she could actually talk to. When she was 17, she started talking to Jo, a girl who she honestly didn't have much in common with. Max also made some other internet friends, most which she still talks to.
Jo had become a part of Max's life, simple as that she had become her best friend and her favorite person to talk to. Max then realized that it didn't matter that she didn't have many friends, not when she had someone as Jo by her side. If they were close when they talked via the internet, they were basically inseparable when they met in real life. Even though Max will never admit it out loud, meeting Jo was probably one of the happiest moment of her life.
After much convincing from her friends, who had seen her work, she decided to apply to Desmond to study animation. Over the years, her love for art had grown and she was settled on doing it for the rest of her life. Max moved out for her freshman year of college, deciding it was probably easier to live near the school. After a very sucky year living in Miduna Beach, she decided she simply couldn't handle living there and moved back to Blackwood. Her parents happily welcomed her with open arms. A few months later however, they surprised her when they gifted her a small house some minutes away from theirs. Max happily accepted and quickly went to an animal shelter to finally officially adopt some pets of her own.
Another thing that has been going on with Max's life is sexuality. Romantic attraction and sexuality was something that was never discussed in Max's life. She remembers Carol asking her if she had a crush and her inventing a name because she thought she had to have one. Max often found herself in these situations. In all honestly, Max never saw anyone that way, she just couldn't. For a while, she thought there was something wrong with her, thinking she was unable to feel love. One night, she found a post talking about Aromantism, she clearly said to herself "hey, that's me". After a lot of research, Max finally understood what was happening. She was normal. Max also found out the difference between romantic and platonic love and figured that the platonic love she felt for her friends and family were enough for her. Max also found out that she was Asexual. After this, Max was more confident about herself. She no longer invited fake crushes and simply told people she was aromantic, thankfully her friends were all very cool with it.
With studying her dream career in college, and having amazing pets and friends, and Jo. her life couldn't get any better. Max never saw her life as tragic or anything but she was never truly happy but now she is. She can do what makes her smile and be honest about who she is and is surrounded by people who love her for her odd self. Things really couldn't get any better
Andrew & Rachel Cassells - Max always had a fairly good relationships with her parents, there probably wasn't any occasion where they got in a bad argument and such. Of course, they had their bumps but they always managed to work it through. Max was taught to be independent at a young age by them, they will often leave her alone at the house, give her chores and taught her how to use public transportation. Max doesn't resent them at all for this, in fact she has always loved to explore and go on 'adventures' so for a young Max, this moments where pretty darn awesome. Andrew and Rachel have always made sure to give Max the freedom they think she needs, not getting involved much into her life and simply letting her be. They made sure not to bug her when she finished high school opting for her to decide her career choice in it's due time. Although Max loves her parents very much, she still doesn't tell them everything there is to be known about her such as her sexual and romantic orientation. It is not because she feels as if they wouldn't accept her but because she knows they will never truly understand her and how she feels so she keeps quiet when conversations about dating comes up.
Jo Harries - Max has always loved drawing, she will often post artwork of whatever game she was currently playing online. It was a way to show creativity and she would often use it as practice and she would usually receive some good feedback. Messages were something normal for her to get, most of them were short and simple, explaining their love for her art. One day however she received an unusually long message that practically described said game in depth. Said person had basically started an ended a conversation with them in one message, they had also talked to them as if they knew Max already. She was amused so she replied. This went on for months, she soon learned that this person's name was Jo and that she was close to their age. Jo didn't really have much in common with Max but they always seemed to have something to talk about. They both developed a friendship and moved their conversations to Skype. They found themselves talking to each other 24/7. This went on for 2 years, they both considered each others best friends. One day they had agreed upon exchanging Christmas presents, when Jo asked Max for her address it came to realization that they live fairly close to each other. Of course, Jo didn't say so and instead knocked on her door on Christmas Day gifts in hand. Ever since they have been inseparable, many people often get jealous of their friendship even going to calling them soulmates. Max can't picture her life without Jo in it, there really isn't a minute in her life where she isn't talking to her and she wouldn't have it any other way.
