Nikita has always been very attractive. She has long, wavy hair that goes a little past her shoulders and mesmerizing brown eyes that change color depending on the light, ranging from dark brown to green. Makeup wise, Nikita opts for bold lipstick to accentuate her plump lips, and eyeliner and eyeshadow to bring out her eyes. She keeps the rest of her makeup simple.
As for her clothing, Nikita likes wearing comfortable but stylish clothing. She never wants to be caught looking like a slob, so she doesn't just throw outfits on. Her wanting to appear well-groomed isn't far enough to be considered vain, however, she does like to look nice. Her clothing is also inexpensive; she doesn't like to spend too much money on her clothes.
Nikita is a very intelligent, dependable and hard-working woman. She is very ambitious, but to the point where she could even be described as a workaholic at times. Nikita is also quick-tempered, especially if someone is disrespecting her, her family, or her friends. She is very passionate and will fight for the people she loves. Nikita is very motherly and has strong maternal instincts that give her a desire to help others. She has a no-nonsense attitude and she is not afraid of scolding others when she thinks they have done wrong. Nikita is authoritative and a natural leader; she can give out orders as well as respect.
Although Nikita is very friendly, she does not get attached to people easily. Once she does get attached to someone, however, she is loyal to them and loves them. Even though she's very nice, it is not easy to become someone Nikita completely gets comfortable around like this. Nikita considers herself to have good judgment of character. Nikita also has a good sense of humor, and she likes to have fun. However, she believes that work comes before play so she usually doesn't allow herself to relax until she has done something progressive. She considers her work fun, though, so it is not too much of a problem - most of the time.
Even though their marriage was arranged, and even though they both didn't want to be wed at first, they ended up falling in love and having a child. On June 28, 1985, Nikita Kapoor was born in Bangalore, India, as the only daughter of Mokshi and Dhanu Kapoor. Nikita was born a happy and healthy baby, nurtured with her parents' love and good care.
Nikita grew up happily in Bangalore. At the age of seven, she started learning how to cook. Her mother realized that Nikita had a natural talent in cooking, just like herself, and they bonded through cooking. Being a well-fortunate family, Nikita got the privilege of attending a nice school in Bangalore. Nikita was very popular with her classmates and had many friends. She also did very well in her studies.
But, that life abruptly came to an end when her parents told her the family would be moving to America. By the time they reached America, in 1999, Nikita was fourteen and knew some English, but not a lot. She was no longer considered wealthy, either. When she first attended an American public school, the kids mocked her clothes, her mannerisms, and her broken English amongst other things. Although Nikita did not understand everything they said, she knew enough to know that what they were saying was friendly nor kind. The teachers were no help either, belittling her and making her feel stupid. During her first year in America, Nikita doesn't remember one day that she didn't end up crying after school.
At home, her parents tried to comfort her and encourage her to focus on her studies. She tried to listen to what they said, but the bullying still hurt. Gradually, she started getting better at English and practiced it at home with her family. She started to make a few friends during this time, and her grades started to get better, as well.
After a blessed summer between eighth and ninth grade, Nikita started ninth grade with quite a few admirers. Some of the same boys who had mocked her English in eighth grade started to ask her out on dates, and some of the same girls that had teased her about her clothes suddenly wanted to be her friends. She realized how shallow many American teenagers could be and decided not to associate with those people. She was content with the few friends she had, and she told herself not to let herself become distracted from school by the other teens.
In 2003, Nikita graduated from her high school as valedictorian. She got into Lebeaux University, a prestigious college in California, so her family moved for the first time since her move to America. They settled into Barfield, where her family decided to open a family restaurant called "Kapoor's Bhojan," which means "Kapoor's Food" in English.
She majored in business, and in one of her first year classes, she met Omar Samir. Initially, Nikita and Omar didn't really talk to each other, and they only sat next to each other in that class. Once they were assigned in a group project together with three other people, it gave them the chance to get to know each other a bit. Because of a seemingly lack of structure, usually only two people would show up to a meeting at a time. Nikita and Omar usually ended up being the only two, so they started to learn more about each other and become friends.
Near the end of the semester, "Kapoor's Bhojan" was relocated to a larger building that had an apartment above it. Nikita moved into that apartment, and her parents signed her the rights as the official new owner of the restaurant. Knowing she wouldn't be able to take on all of the bills and rent by herself, Nikita asked Omar to move in with her, whom she had become close friends with. When she told her parents that she had asked someone to move in with her, she had forgotten to mention that Omar was a man, so they were surprised at first when they met Omar. They still let Omar stay because they trusted their daughter's judgment and they also trusted Omar.
Omar introduced Nikita to Christian Cruz, his other best friend that he had met at his work. Nikita and Christian got along well, and they soon became close friends, too. When Christian's lease was about to expire, he asked if he could live with Nikita and Omar, and they welcomed him with open arms.
Now, "Kapoor's Bhojan" is starting to become popular in the area and the business is doing well. Nikita is very proud of what it has become and loves working with her family and others in the restaurant. Recently, Nikita's parents have been asking about when Nikita is going to marry and who she is going to pass the restaurant down to when she gets older. Nikita has been thinking about that a lot.
