Oliver, as part of his guise dresses in smart casual most of the time, and likes dressing formally (for some odd reason). When he's in the comforts of his home, however, he tends to throw on whatever decent outfit he can fish out from his closet- but when it comes to his friends, he tends to throw everything off by wearing oddly vibrant striped shirts and the like- business casual, even.
Oliver is often seen as a conversationalist and a very casual person, but in truth is actually very antisocial and only adopts a talkative aura for people not to view him as a loner. He is very strict when it comes to academics; making schoolwork a top priority unlike most his age. He is very independent and likes working alone when it comes to projects. He is a complete brainiac when it comes to experimentation-related subjects, such as Chemistry- and makes eve the simplest of surroundings a scientific observation. Oliver also generally loves and treasures his family- but hates being treated like a little kid by his stepsister Jackie, even though their age gap is only four months. A weak side of him is that he can be very oblivious when it comes to relationships, or love for that matter- due to the fact he looks at everything scientifically- unlike most who don't.
Oliver was born to an eccentric Stephen, Olivia and Charlotte Redmond, overjoyed at the new addition to the family. As a head start, his parents introduced him to the world of science, mathematics and literature in advance- gifting him with various scientific and mathematical instruments like flasks, calculators and the like, and with complicated books of all shapes and sizes. As hoped, he grew to love the three subjects and excelled in them once school started for the young boy.
Although he was doing quite well in his academics, he had one problem he had to struggle with both at home and at school- that being the shaky marriage between his father and mother. Despite being four and a half, he could always recall the fights his mother and father had every single night- and at Christmas eve the following year, his mother Olivia disappeared along with all her belongings, leaving nothing but an apology letter to her two children. Although devastated, he hid his feelings by acting as if he were unaffected- but his older sister begged to differ.
It was when he was seven years old that his father started dating Juliette, a barmaid he had met on a night out with his co-workers. At first, he generally felt uneasy about her, believing she wasn't suitable as a mother and wife- until he met Jackie, his soon-to-be stepsister one fateful visit. Although she was a tad bit rebellious and loved to mess around with him, they spent their freetime bonding with each other when they could, wanting to know more about themselves. When Juliette and Stephen married, Oliver thought it was the time that he could finally live in peace, now that the missing piece of the puzzle was found- but his, especially his stepsister Jackie's- whole world came crashing down just a mere two weeks after his birthday when Juliette died in a road accident, leaving his father a single parent once more.
Day and night he and Charlotte ached to see his father and Jackie in distress- and wished to help somehow. They triumphed in getting their father over Juliette's untimely death; but quite unsurprisingly- Jackie wouldn't budge a single inch, deeply scarred from the hell she underwent. In order to combat this, though, combined with the therapy sessions their father worked day and night for- the two pestered and pranced around Jackie, dragging her around and chatting to her endlessly no matter how irritated they made her. This repetitive habit, no matter how much it irked Oliver to go out of his boundaries- eventually paid off as Jackie returned to her normal self, on the advice not to think about her mother (specifically her death) too much.
As of recent, he lives a fairly comfortable life with his siblings and father, and often hangs around with Jackie and their close circle of friends, or either spending his time locked up in his room or enduring being treated like a toddler by his sisters- but generally enjoys his day-to-day activities no matter what.
Jackie Redmond - Oliver's stepsister, closest friend and human advisory guide. The two are at the opposite ends when it comes to their interests and dislikes, sense of fashion and lifestyle- but like most siblings, get along nonetheless despite their differences.
Charlotte Redmond - Oliver's biological older sister, the two don't really talk much considering the fact Charlotte is already in college- but are very close and keep in touch as best as they can, despite slight difficulties regarding her location.
Stephen Redmond - Oliver's dad, who he idolizes for his diligence, responsibility and undying love for his three children. They relate to each other very well in an almost abnormal way; to the point that sometimes people mistake them as brothers with a very wide age gap.
