Rani Mishra is inactive and can no longer roleplay.
Portrayer's note: So I was really feeling Samir and Rani for a while, but then they sort of died down and I don't really have any ideas for them. They're still there and they may be back if I get some ideas for them but yeah.
Rani has a fair complexion, which she gets from her mother's side of the family. She also has a very beautiful face, which got her a lot of unwarranted attention in high school, with many people telling her she was "too pretty" to work in a lab and that she should try to get a career as an actress.
Rani is clever, witty, dependable and devoted, but at times she tends to become more of an overbearing mother figure, which she inherited from her own mother. She can also be materialistic at times, as well as being moody and short tempered.
Rani was born in Dubai, to her two parents and one older brother. Her mother taught her both English and Arabic from a young age, often switching between the two, and as a result, she picked up both languages really fast. When she was four, her whole family moved over to California, where she immediately worked on topping all of her classes. By the time she was twelve, she could speak French and Spanish fluently, and while she had a few friends, she was rather quiet and kept to herself. When she was in her senior year, one of her teachers recommended that she applied to work on one of the many international research projects at BIST, and after a long application, she got in.
Her excitement was short lived, after her parents, who were opposed to her living alone, miles away from her family, said no. After months of arguments about where she should go to college, Rani spent a year protesting, by refusing to go to any college or get a job. Instead, she spent the year spending money. When time came to reapply for college, her parents allowed her to move out to Barfield, on the condition that her older brother moved with her.
Rani has a strained relationship with her parents. On the one hand, she is extremely thankful for all the opportunities she had received thanks to them, but at the same time, she resents them for not trusting her enough to do her own thing, even though it's more of a traditional thing.
She gets along with her brother most of the time, however, he tends to get on her nerves with his impulsiveness and poor organization, while she manages to annoy him with her controlling nature.
At the moment, she only knows Samir.
Rani means queen/princess while Basanti means of Spring.
She can currently speak seven languages fluently: Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Hindu
I was screwing around with some random plot generator things and one of the things that came up was a materialistic woman, and a courageous man and most of the plot had nothing to do with it, but then I was screwing around with other random generators which inspired me to make Samir, and as I was developing that idea, I thought of incorporating a roommate into it, and the more I wrote it, the more I fell in love, so yeah.
