Sakutaro makes sure to groom himself quite neatly in order to look presentable, trimming his hair and ironing his shirts neatly and all. But despite his best efforts to look pleasing to the eye; he is actually quite insecure about himself, more so about his height- judging by the fact he towers over most people he knows, including his fellow classmates and even his sister, mother and girlfriend- although he has grown quite used to being this way.
As a foreigner, Sakutaro is not quite accustomed to Western culture and often wears his grandfather's old yukata at home. He is very quiet and can speak moderate English, often using honorifics in his words as English is not his mother tongue. He is a clean freak and constantly has to tidy up Haruhi's room- Sakutaro is very shy around others except to his younger sister Haruhi Inoue, whom he had formed a very strong bond with. He, along with Haruhi- of course- are Otakus, watching many different animes and amazingly still maintaining the same amount of love for them all.
As a young child, his mother and father Jin and Emiko used to work a lot in order to support their family and send their children to a good school, leaving him alone for most of his childhood. His grandfather, however, took care of him and treated him like his own son- of course, not neglecting Haruhi. The two children and the old man stayed together happily until he passed away from leukemia, devastating the two siblings. However, both of them stood high up- promising each other they wouldn't separate until they both died hand-in-hand as siblings.
Years later, when Sakutaro graduated at the age of 19, he saw his mother and father's declining state and asked for their approval on his request to work abroad to support them- which of course, they accepted. Haruhi heard from the kitchen- and remembering his childhood promise, ran from the counter and stood next to him, nearly causing Sakutaro to faint. She demanded that she come with him- in which her parents hesitantly agreed. A year later and they set out to travel, choosing to live in Lebeaux because of its excellence in education, and mainly because Haruhi wanted to see what Western fashion looked like. Now, currently, they live together in a flat, Sakutaro working as a mangaka artist and Haruhi studying in Lebeaux Preparatory School.
Haruhi Inoue: As Sakutaro's younger sibling and of the opposite gender, Sakutaro ensures her safety and even scares boys away when they get close to her. Although this habit has become quite an irritant for Haruhi, they still love each other as siblings.
Jin and Emiko Inoue: As Sakutaro's parents, he loves them with all his heart and tends to look after them a lot. He is very close to his mother Emiko rather than his Father, often getting teased for this in primary as a mama's boy.
Haruhi Inoue - His first best friend before Satoshi, Haruhi and Sakutaro are an inseparable duo capable of doing amazing yet odd feats together. Even if Haruhi often tells him to change his style or allow her to go somewhere, the two simply cannot hate each other- being so attached to each other like superglued hands.
Satoshi Komaeda - Ever since the first day they met in Satoshi's orphanage, the two are a very unique duo- they do not go out together very much, or even do daily activities with each other- but surpisingly, even so, they still remain the best of friends with strong ties to each other.
Hikaru Kogami - Hikaru's crush-turned-boyfriend, the two are deeply in love with each other but know their boundaries. He also acts as her superior and mentor- making sure every lesson is burned into her mind in an instant.
Sakutaro has the knack of balancing things such as pens and other things on uneven surfaces.
His favourite comfort food is mac and cheese.
He's allergic to chalk.
