|Satoshi "Makoto Hinata" Komaeda|
|Birthday:||January 17, 1994|
|Address:||25 T University Avenue|
|Housemates:||Sakutaro Inoue (Best Friend) and Haruhi Inoue (Best Friend)|
Since he is more focused with work and studies rather than his appearance and trying to look his best, he often looks messy and tired- which surprisingly causes his fans to love and adore him even more, which greatly irritates him. At home, unlike Sakutaro who wears a yukata, he instead wears modern pajamas like Saktuaro's sister, Haruhi- which makes both her and him laugh at how "ancient" he looks.
Although he is adored by many girls, he ignores them, knowing that they don't want him for him, but instead for his looks and to brag for. Often, people judge him as one of the popular but picky boys, but in reality he is the opposite of what they classify him.
He is very kind and hones a great deal of respect for the elderly, calling them "honorable witnesses of history" and "the true hope-bearers of humanity". The second title was derived from his grandmother Tokiko, who helped give him hope for his future due to the abuse he recieved from his original parents. Satoshi is also very fond of children and animals- owning about 6 dogs back in his home in Kyoto, and often playing with many children in his local park.
Originally, Satoshi was born Makoto Hinata to two rebellious alcoholic teenagers named Hiroshi and Toko. Of course- they hated him, calling him useless and the worst son one could ever recieve. These words weighed him down, combined with the common beatings he recieved from his father. He could not go to school without anyone seeing him with bruises, bandages and cuts- all patched up by himself. Tokiko, a widow and Hiroshi's mother took pity on the depressed child, giving him the warmest of love one could recieve.
Tokiko treated him like her own true grandson- feeding him large and delicious meals to take care of his malnutrition, cleaning and patching up his wounds, buying large amounts of clothes for him instead of the dirty oversized shirt he always wore back home, and possibly too much for the young Makoto to believe. They both lived happily together in Tokiko's home in Seika, but not for long.
Makoto woke up in the middle of the night, due to a nightmare. Of course, his first thoughts were to go to Tokiko- as he knew that every time he had a nightmare, he could always go up to her and sleep together with her, wrapped safely in her arms. But instead of staring at a peacefully sleeping 42-year-old woman, what he discovered the gruesomely-murdered body of Tokiko, hacked to pieces. A bloody fire-axe lay on the floor, as Makoto stood there, paralyzed. He knew that if she died, he would be forced to go back to his parents. Makoto gulped, before walking in nothing but his pajamas, in the dark, cold and wet streets of Kyoto.
Once he reached the filthy, old apartment building, he saw that there were several police cars in front and asked one of them the matter. The officer promptly explained that there was a homicide in one of the apartments- Apartment 139, to be exact. The others explained what happened- his father, out of rage, killed Makoto's mother, grabbed a fire-axe and hacked his mother to death and went back to the apartment, commiting suicide by shooting himself in the head and collapsing beside his mother in his last moments. At that moment, he lost all hope. He begged the police officers to grab their pistols and kill him- which, of course, they refused.
They made him live in a foster home, which was hell to him. The women in the foster home told that he was often very quiet and only spoke when necessary. He never made any friends until one cold December afternoon the two Inoue siblings Sakutaro and Haruhi, along with their grandfather- visited the foster home, giving some children homemade presents such as bracelets and decorative cards. Haruhi and Sakutaro gave him a bracelet and an old cap their father used to wear as a child- which of course, he cherished and kept. Ever since that visit, the two siblings kept visiting the boy, soon becoming the best of friends. The woman were happy- he had brightened up and started to talk more.
A few months later- a childless but happy, married couple named Kou and Naho Komaeda adopted him, renaming him Satoshi Komaeda. He accepted the name with a smile, living with them happily in their quite large home in Ōyamazaki. They treated him the same as Tokiko did- with love and care. He eventually moved to Osaka to meet Sakutaro and Haruhi once more- becoming neighbors. The three were happy to be reunited- constantly visiting the other. Years later, the two boys graduated from Osaka University together, until a few months later when Sakutaro and Haruhi traveled away to improve their family's living condition. He decided to follow in their footsteps- and now currently lives with Sakutaro and Haruhi in their home in Lebeaux, working as a veterinarian to treat wounded animals.
Tokiko Hinata- His grandmother who gave him his first taste of love. The two, before Tokiko's tragic death had a strong bond with each other, treating each other with love and care.
Hiroshi and Toko Hinata- Satoshi's original parents, they were originally rebellious, alcoholic teenagers who met up at a wild party. They abused the poor boy to no end, finally ceasing to exist when Hiroshi killed both Tokiko and Toko, then turning the gun on himself.
Kou and Naho Komaeda- Satoshi's adoptive parents, they adopted him since Naho was unable to bear children due to unknown circumstances. They still live in their home in Ōyamazaki- often visiting Sakutaro and Haruhi's parents to chat.
Sakutaro Inoue: Satoshi's best friend, they met together a few days before Christmas, and after that one fateful visit Sakutaro visited him more often. Their friendship is very strong, even to the point that some people mistake the two for brothers.
Haruhi Inoue- Similarly, the two are great friends, even with their four-year age gap. When Sakutaro is away for a little inspiration for his mangas, the two often cook meals or watch TV together, in a sister-brother relationship.
