Katelyn struggles to get the box on top of her shelf, jumping and getting on her tip-toes after her mom told— more like forced her to get rid of the junk in her room. She manages to touch the edge of the box, pulling it towards the edge if the shelf before accidentally making it topple over, before all the contents spill on the floor. She bends over to sit, before placing all the stuff back into the box one by one. She notices a Polaroid of both her and her friend, Tyler four years ago. The same day they had their first kiss, the one moment that she wished she could relive.
"Tyler, oh my god! Give that back!" Katelyn yells, chasing Tyler around her house. In his hand was a small, pink, polka-dotted teddy bear given to her by her parents ever since she was a small girl. She kept it with her ever since, but was shy to admit it since she was afraid she'd be made fun of.
"If you want it, you gotta reach it!" Tyler exclaims, holding the stuffed bear high above his head. Katelyn finally catches up to him before getting on her tip-toes and jumping. She jumps one more time, but she loses her balance. She expected herself to fall, but Tyler catches her with one arm, the bear still in his other hand. He pulls her closer to him so she could balance herself, but pulls her too close, until their faces were inches apart. "I, uh...."
Tyler laughs when he realizes her hands on his chest and the fact that Katelyn stammered in front of him. "Do you like me?" He questions confidently. He was flirtatious and naive back then, he didn't know how serious relationships could get.
"What? Ew, no." She exclaims, jumping out of their position.
"Yeah, I think you do." He says, smirking when he noticed the girl blush.
"What makes you think that?"
"Well how would you know if I do?" She says, putting her hands on her hips. She gets caught off guard when Tyler pulls her in, and she immediately puts her hands on his chest again, out of instinct. Their faces, inches away. Deciding to close the gap between the two, Tyler leans in to kiss her, making Katelyn shocked yet kisses him back.
Tyler pulls away and Katelyn begins stammering, her cheeks pink from blushing. He smirks and chuckles. "THAT, is how I know."
She smiles, as she reminisced the event, completely forgetting the reason why the box was down in the first place. Instead of fixing her stuff, she tosses them back in the box and places it under her bed, when she hears a text message coming from her phone. She then replies to the text before eventually drifting off to sleep.
