Tristan stands at 5'11", a pretty decent height. Tristan has blonde hair that changes shades throughout the year (during the summer, it's darker; during the winter it's lighter). He has thick facial hair that he shaves and regrows a lot. He has brown eyes that are very average. He's the type to wear leather jackets and combat boots all the time, except for in the summer when he usually wears board shorts and graphic tees. He's a very lanky man yet he maintains high physical strength, even though it doesn't seem like it.
Tristan is generally a nice guy. He's pretty friendly and easy to get on with, and usually is hard to confront or cause conflict with. He's a charming fellow and he's very good with his words, making it easy for him to flirt with other people. He's real confident (it sometimes borders on cockiness) in himself and he shows it in everything he does. However, he's not the sharpest tool in the shed and he has trouble with subtlety. He's also has trouble being in touch with his feminine side and tries too hard to be "manly".
Tristan was born in Chicago, Illinois. He was the result of a one-night between an overly stressed college student and the university bad boy, who got arrested for vehicular homicide while intoxicated a few weeks later. His mother had dropped out of school and had to devote herself to making things work for the baby since his father was going to be imprisoned for the rest of his life. She had picked up on some odd jobs and illegal activities to make ends meet.
As Tristan grew into a teenager and realized what he was born into, he started acting out and had started off on the wrong foot by constantly getting in trouble in school and out of it. By the time he had reached his freshman year of high school, he had been picked up by the cops multiple times and had been to juvenile hall a few times. He had kept up his trek down this bad path until he made it (which he just barely managed) to 10th grade. When he stormed into school one the first day, a new sophomore named Zach accidentally bumped into him while they were going to class. Tristan made a scene, and Zach told him off in front of everyone. This made Zach an enemy in Tristan's eyes and they constantly butted heads through the first few months of school. By the time Christmastime - and midterms for the year - rolled in, his geometry teacher assigned Zach to tutor him as he was very far behind. This was the turning point in Tristan's life. Zach went to his house to tutor him and saw the life he lived, and grew concerned about him. He also realized that Tristan was failing almost all his classes, and then took upon himself to become a full-time tutor for all subjects and started letting him stay over at his house as much as he liked. This formed the beginning of their lifelong friendship and triggered the improvement in Tristan's education.
By the time they were juniors, Tristan had quit all his filthy habits and had gained an interest in his studies as he wanted to graduate on time. He had turned into a goofy kid who liked to just have fun like the regular teenagers. He went out and started dating and had a much better life than before. By the time junior year was rolling to a close, he met a girl. Her name was Julia. She was his first love. They met in class and went out a few times after school. By the time summer had rolled around, they were an item and they were just addicted to each other. He had put his all into her and didn't care what anyone thought of it - even Zach, who saw something bad brewing and tried to warn Tristan, to no avail. They went through the rest of high school together. At the graduation ceremony, he had planned to propose to her before it started. She was nowhere to be found and Tristan had to go look for her. When he finally did find her, she was in a janitor's closet having sex with one of their fellow graduates. Tristan threw the ring he planned to give her in the trash at that discovery and had almost not participated in the ceremony, but Zach convinced him to stay.
Zach had gotten accepted to Lebeaux University, a very prestigious university halfway across the country. Tristan decided to follow along and just go to a community college. But when Zach noticed that Tristan was starting to slip back into his old habits, he decided to follow him to Barfield instead and went to Barfield Community College with him to keep him on the right track. Tristan had written finding love again off and thought that just sleeping with women was all he needed to do to keep himself from getting hurt. He built up a arrogance streak and started becoming extremely dense and closed off to prevent himself from getting hurt again. He had kept that up for 3 years, and now after Zach finally got him to realize that he isn't doing anything with his life but wasting it, he decided to remodel himself and try to make something better happen from himself.
Tristan's mother, Leanne Rockwell, was a sociology major in college when she met her baby's father at a party and had sex with him while intoxicated. Seeing as he was incarcerated shortly after conception, she never found it necessary to tell him and she raised Tristan by herself. She's given up on her dreams to make her son happy. While he may not seem appreciative of it because he rarely calls to check in on her seeing as she's in Illinois, he really cares for his mother but just finds it hard to communicate with her.
His father, Zander Locke, was a "bad boy," that all the girls swooned over. He was completely reckless and out of control, but his charm was infectious and his instability was overlooked. He was jailed for vehicular homicide while intoxicated shortly after Tristan was conceived and he never knew he had sired a son. Tristan has absolutely no desire to know, or know anything of his father at all. All he knows about him is that he's British, in prison, and that he was given his last name.
Zach Nelson: Tristan has been friends with Zach since Zach started high school with him as a sophomore. While Tristan was the arrogant badass that no one really liked, Zach was the snappy bookworm that made him get over himself and chill out. This resulted in a longterm friendship that's lasted until now. Zach knows all of his weaknesses and vice versa, and Zach usually keeps Tristan and his bad lifestyle choices in check.
Sam Riddleman: Tristan and Sam were friends with benefits that just turned into them only being with each other. Neither of them really considered it dating although that's kinda what it was. But, after a while, Sam got tired of Tristan's stupid ways of treating women and broke it off. When this ended, it was the trigger for Tristan to reevaluate his life.
Chad Vasquez is this guy he finds really adorable and stuff, but he barely notices that he's attracted to him. He likes him and stuff but he doesn't think that's the case. It's kinda obvious he wants the D though.
Tristan has an addiction to Italian Ice.
He doesn't like talking about his life back in Chicago at all. Mentioning Chicago brings up bad memories that he's trying to block out.
Tristan is majoring in art at BCC after randomly picking the major out of a hat because he didn't care what he did as long as he was in school.
His dad was English, and Tristan identifies as British as well, but he doesn't have the cool accent. Bummer.
He doesn't talk to his mother too often, although he misses her dearly.
He has never met his father and doesn't plan on visiting him in prison either.
He's allergic to peanuts.
He's gay as can be, but he identifies as bicurious.
Tristan is like this character I love shaping and molding for some reason. I got rid of him because of a lack of inspiration and now I got it. He's been around for the longest of times now and I love him dearly tbh.
