| Yolanda Monet is inactive but is up for adoption.
Portrayer's note: Basically, I brought her in twice and bringing her back made me realise why I got rid of her the first time. By all means, if you like her, take her, but I won't bring her back again.
|Yolanda Carmen Monet|
|Birthday:||April 7, 1992|
|Education:||Freshman at Desmond|
|Address:||35/B Ocean View Drive, Miduna Beach|
Yolanda has a very petite frame, being very thin, however she has very long, slender legs. Working as a model, she usually loves to experiment with clothes and will usually wear whatever she gets to bring home, although she particularly loves tank tops and shorts which show off her legs, as well as a lot of things in pastel colors. She has flowing long hair which she loves, and for a while she used to dye it bright colors, before letting it go back to her natural color.
While Yolanda can be very confident while she's on stage and in her element, she's fairly quiet and mostly keeps to herself. She is very feminine and doesn't like to get her hands dirty. She's also a very loyal friend and would keep any secret, no matter how bad. At times though, she can become overly emotional and will sometimes go quiet for days rather than letting it out.
Yolanda was born as Raymond George Monet in San Remo, California, however as a child, she found herself drawn to more feminine toys and constantly seeing images of women in magazines and on TV and telling her parents that she wanted to be Britney Spears when she was older. Her mother, having worked with a number of trans* people beforehand, explained all of gender to her, and asked if she wanted to undergo hormone treatments, which she did, beginning in 2002. After being bullied at her school, Yolanda and her parents moved to Los Angeles, and her parents agreed to let her change her name to Yolanda, which was going to be her name if she was born female.
Throughout middle school, she became increasingly interested in modelling, and asked her parents to sign her up for a pageant contest, which they did. She came fourth in her first pageant at age eleven and then placed second at her second one, before her dad was involved in a helicopter accident which left him paralyzed. Following this, her mother found it difficult to pay for her father's medical treatment and Yolanda's pageants, and Yolanda understandably let her pageants go.
While her mother was busy working, Yolanda went to her father for help with her hair and makeup, and she started to dye her hair bright colors which got her the attention of a modelling agency during one of her school performances. She was asked if she wanted to be a model, and at the age of fifteen she had her first photo shoot. She modeled for a few years, and spent a lot of her time outside of school busy with modelling and didn't have time to spend with friends. She stopped modelling when she was seventeen so that she could focus on her schooling during her senior year.
By the time she turned eighteen she had saved up almost enough for her sex reassignment surgery from all of her modelling jobs, and her parents' birthday present was to pay for the rest of it for her. Afterwards, she auditioned for a few more modelling agencies and got some work, but decided that she needed more experience and traveled around to a few different cities and states, living in hotels wherever she could get work. Her parents moved into a bigger house and began fostering children, while Yolanda would occasionally visit and help them look after everyone.
In 2012, she heard about a new course at Desmond which was designed for models who wanted to get into fashion design, so she decided to start saving up for that and got a half-tuition scholarship after she applied in 2014. After finding out that she had been awarded the scholarship, she decided to move out to Miduna Beach in her new apartment. After living there for a few weeks, she decided to adopt a pet cat, whom she affectionately named Tubbs. After about two months in Miduna Beach, she was offered a big modelling job in Paris for a few months and she decided to put her study on hold because it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. She moved back again in December 2014 and made plans to catch up on all the work that she had missed.
Yolanda comes from a very progressive family, with her mother, Olive, working as a social worker and her father, Robert, working as a helicopter pilot until an accident left him paralyzed from the waist down. Although she was initially their only child, her parents have since gone on to foster other children since she moved out.
Her family is one of the most important things to her and she constantly calls them or video chats with them, and keeps up to date with everything that's going on in their lives.
She just moved here so this will be added later.
